Offers
An Offer is an on-site message that you can display to anonymous visitors to decrease cart & website abandonment, increase engagement, capture contact information and/or push them towards a certain Call to Action.
Step 1 - Design Your Offer
1. Select Offers from the Retain menu, and click Create Offer.
2. Name your Offer & select Create.
- Best Practice is to label your offer based on the audience or pages you are targeting, the trigger, and the type of offer. (i.e. Discount Promo - Exit Intent - Booking Pages Only)
3. Click Edit Offer in your Offers list.
4. Select your Goal.
- Use Email Capture to capture email addresses and display a success message (visitor stays on-page). Use Call to Action to display a message and either redirect the visitor to a new page or close the popup.
5. Select a Layout, Size & Position.
6. Style your Offer, using the configuration options in the panel.
Step 2 - Define Target Audience & Frequency
1. Trigger - Determine when your offer should be triggered.
- Use Exit Intent to display a message that aims to keep visitors on-site as they attempt to end their session. Use Timed to display a message to all visitors after a certain amount of time, regardless of intent.
2. Pages - Determine the pages on which to display your offer.
- If All Pages is selected, Offer will show on all pages.
- If Select URLs is selected, follow these guidelines to ensure proper display.
- If both fields are empty, Offer will not fire on any pages.
- If Include is added, but Exclude is empty, Offer will only fire on the “Include” page(s).
- If Include + Exclude are added, Offer will show on Included pages but not Excluded.
- If Include is empty, but Exclude is added, Offer will show on all pages, except Excludes.
3. Audience - Define which visitors should be shown your offer
NOTE: With Behavior > Booking Details, you can set an offer to only trigger if certain booking criteria has been selected. Want to display a discount to visitors interested in visiting during your slow-season? Or maybe you’d like to offer multi-night visitors a drink coupon for booking direct? Email us with the Booking Details you would like to target, and we’ll help you set this up.
4. Frequency - Determine when to start and stop showing your offer.
- SHOW:
- Every Page Load will attempt to show it on each page a visitor hits.
- Every Session will only attempt to show it once per website visit.
- Every __ Days/Weeks will only allow it to show this often, max.
- STOP SHOWING:
- After Offer is Closed” means that, once closed, we will never show that visitor this offer again.
- “After Signup or Click” means we will only stop showing it once the visitor engages with the offer.
- “After Offer has Been Seen” will stop showing it once the visitor has seen it s specified number of times.
5. Schedule - Set a Start & End Date for your offer (if necessary)
Step 3 - Create A Delivery Email (Optional)
If you’d like to send an email to visitors that opt into your offer (i.e. Emailing them a discount code), select the Email Delivery tab, and customize an email to match your offer
Step 4 - Enable the Offer
